Privacy Policy

Summary

MiseDen is designed to be privacy-respecting. We don't ask for an account and the only data we collect is what's needed to make the app work, improve it, and understand which marketing channels bring people to MiseDen.

What we collect

• Anonymous device identifier — a one-way hash of your iOS vendor ID. Not personally identifying.
• Crash and performance data — through Firebase Crashlytics, linked to the anonymous device identifier so we can fix bugs without identifying you.
• App usage events — through Firebase Analytics: which screens you visit, which features you use, in aggregate.
• Install attribution and post-install events — through AppsFlyer: when you install MiseDen we record which marketing campaign referred you, and a small set of in-app events (recipe generated, affiliate item tapped) so we can measure campaign performance.
• Advertising identifier (IDFA) — only if you grant tracking permission via the iOS App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you decline, no IDFA is collected and attribution falls back to Apple's privacy-preserving SKAdNetwork.
• Recipe interactions — what you save, your "My Kit" selections. Stored locally on your device; not sent to our servers unless you opt in to backup.

What we do NOT collect

• No name, email, phone, or address.
• No precise location.
• No browsing history outside MiseDen.
• We do not sell your data.

App Tracking Transparency

On first launch iOS shows the standard App Tracking Transparency prompt. Choosing "Allow" lets us share your IDFA with AppsFlyer and our advertising partners (currently Kaizen) to measure campaign performance. Choosing "Ask App Not to Track" disables IDFA sharing — the app works identically, and attribution falls back to Apple's SKAdNetwork, which does not identify you individually. You can change your choice at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

Affiliate links

MiseDen contains affiliate links to Amazon. When you tap an item in a recipe's Kit, we route you to Amazon with our associate tag. We don't see what you buy; Amazon reports an aggregate commission to us. We may receive a small commission on qualifying purchases.

As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.

Third parties

• Firebase (Google) — analytics and crash reporting
• AppsFlyer — mobile install attribution and post-install event measurement (anonymous device identifier; IDFA only with your ATT consent)
• Kaizen and other advertising partners — receive aggregated attribution reports from AppsFlyer; they never receive your in-app content (recipes, kit, queries)
• Amazon Associates — affiliate link routing
• Google Gemini — recipe generation (your queries are sent to our backend, which forwards them to Gemini; we don't store queries with identifying information)

Your rights

You can clear all local data by deleting the app. You can opt out of analytics in iOS Settings → Privacy → Analytics & Improvements. You can revoke tracking permission at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, which stops IDFA sharing with AppsFlyer. For any other request, email privacy@miseden.com.

Children

MiseDen is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Changes

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top and announce them in-app on the next launch.
